9 Ways to Increase Twitter Engagement | Twitter Marketing

Utilizing twitter engagement is a great marketing strategy for any business. With over 320 million people using twitter, companies of all different sizes aim for twitter engagement daily in an attempt to turn followers into sales. Unfortunately, the majority of businesses don’t know how to engage effectively on twitter. Simply firing off tweets isn’t necessarily going to get you the twitter engagement that translates into sales.Get more Twitter Engagement

Are you getting enough twitter engagement? What are the best ways to improve twitter engagement? In this post, we will help you answer those questions. Here are 9 effective ways to increase your twitter engagement today!

1) Keep Tweets Under 110 Characters

160 characters may seem short, but if you max out on your character count, your tweets are too long. Tweets with around 110 characters get 17% higher engagement. Why? It leaves people more room to add their own commentary when they retweet.

2) Use Hashtags

Want to double your engagement rate? Use hashtags. Not only do they create higher visibility, but they are their own implicit call to action. Try to limit yourself to two hashtags per tweet for maximum effect.

3) Use Action Words

Utilizing action words, such as “sign up now”, “free consultation”, or “download,” will increase the amount of engagement that your tweet receives. Using action words increases clicks on average by 13 percent.

4) Share Images

If your tweet has an image it will always perform better. In fact, tweets with images get 150% more retweets. People like things that catch their eye. Images have a greater chance of being liked or retweeted than just words alone.Images to increase Twitter engagement

5) Include Shortened Links

Shortened links are proven to drive engagement. About 92% of all twitter interactions (replying, retweeting, etc.) happen when readers click links. If you aren’t using a platform that automatically generates shortened links, use bit.ly to create them for you.

6) Ask for Retweets

If you ask for a retweet, you will get a retweet. It’s that simple. Just remember to spell it out. Asking for “RT” results in a 10-time higher rate while asking for “Retweet” got a 23-time higher rate. Use this technique with caution though. Don’t bombard your audience with constant requests to spread your message.

7) Recycle Tweets

Don’t be afraid to be a tweet repeater. Identical tweets receive the same amount of engagement. All that matters is the quality of the information that you are sharing. If your followers are interested in it, they will engage.

 8) Tweet One to Four Times a Day

If you believe that the more you tweet, the more twitter engagement you will get, you are wrong. Tweeting too often can actually result in extremely poor twitter engagement. Brands that do this seem too strong and forceful with their marketing. As a result, if you want to maximize your engagement, try to constrain you tweets to one to four times a day.

9) Respond Immediately

Twitter has become integrated in companies’ customer service departments. Twitter users expect a response within an hour. Keep your customers and potential customers happy and engaged by quickly responding to questions, comments, and complaints.
