Since its debut in 2000, the Google ad campaign had been known as Google AdWords. We have talked a lot in this space about everything from how it works to how you can find success when it comes to a Google ad campaign. Well, this week anyone who has run a Google Ads in Highland Beach campaign was greeted with a new name, logo, and account from Google.
So, What Is the New Name for Google Ads?
Moving forward, Google AdWords will simply be known as Google Ads. A new Google Ads logo can be found at the top of the web page and the Google AdWords Twitter account was replaced by a Google Ads account. Google even sent out a tweet on their new Google Ads account alerting everyone of the change:
Last month, we announced that Google AdWords is becoming Google Ads. Starting today, you will begin to see the new Google Ads brand reflected across our product, Help Center, and other channels. This will take several months to roll out fully. Learn more: https://t.co/E2rqPY3AJ2pic.twitter.com/V6KB0xoRJg
While the transition when it comes to the name is still ongoing, the change was made as part of an effort for Google to simplify its advertising program. The original edition of Google AdWords was a platform to run text ads on a Google Search. With the continuing evolution of the internet and what you can do with a Google Ad, Google felt it was time to update their ad program.
