Squarespace is one of the best-known brands when it comes to website building. Chances are if you have watched TV or listened to a podcast recently, you have probably heard an ad for them. While at first glance, Squarespace might seem like a great company to use to build out your website, that’s actually not the case. Read this Squarespace review to understand why you should NOT use Squarespace.
Problem #1: Pricing
When it comes to finding the right company to build out your website, pricing is key. While the saying always goes, “you get what you pay for”, that doesn’t mean that the most expensive is always the best one. In fact, when compared to their competitors, Squarespace is significantly more expensive. The main issue for Squarespace’s pricing versus non-all-inclusive solutions is their caps. Their plans are limited to a single website and their lower tier plans cap the number of pages and products.
Problem #2: Backend Functionality
Squarespace sells themselves as being simple, straightforward and easy. In reality, though, the functionality of their backend is anything but simple, straightforward, and easy. Things that should be simple like editing and adding content, opening new pages, adding blog functionality, editing the design template, and moving elements around should be relatively easy, but with Squarespace, they aren’t.
Problem #3: Apps & Extensions
Another issue with Squarespace is the fact that they can’t support 3rd party apps and extensions. Any features that can be rolled out have to be rolled out by Squarespace, which is a big disadvantage if you want seamless integration of specific functionality.
